Dr. John Keyes , DMD

Dr John Keyes and his wife Tamsen grew up in Victoria. Together they have four wonderful children who keep them very busy! After graduating from Claremont Secondary, John attended the University of Lethbridge where he earned his BSc in biology. John then attended dental school at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from dental school in 2012, he completed a three year residency and Master’s degree in Prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota, located in Minneapolis.

After completing his specialty training in Minnesota, John joined the practice of Vancouver Island Prosthodontics in April 2015. John is recognized by the College of Dental Surgeons of BC and is board certified to practice prosthodontics by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

John and his family are very excited to be back home in Victoria. They enjoy being close to the Pacific Ocean again and enjoy boating, fishing and SCUBA diving. John also stays busy with woodworking and marine (salt water) aquariums in his spare time.

Academically and professionally, Dr. Winnett has a MSc in Physiology from the University of Waterloo, a DDS from the University of Western Ontario, and a MSc in Prosthodontics from the University of Toronto.  He is a Board Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, the Past President of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and an Examiner in Prosthodontics for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.  Dr. Winnett has been involved in clinical research in Prosthodontics and is a co-author of academic papers published in the refereed journals Clinical Oral Implant Research and the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants.  He also enjoys practicing Prosthodontics in Bermuda part-time.

Dr. Winnett has an incredible wife and two inspiring sons, and all are very happy to call Victoria their home, finally.
